Semmes Finance Committee Meeting

COMMITTEE MEMBERS: Mayor – Judy Hale*, Council Member – Renee Fransen, City Clerk – Brittany Johnson, Community Members – Brandi Shewmake, and Tina Davis.
PURPOSE: The Finance Committee is appointed by the Mayor (with the Mayor being the Chair of the Committee) to make recommendations on financial matters of the City to the Mayor and City Council and to monitor the integrity of the City’s financial reporting process.
GOAL: To provide accurate and necessary financial information and advice to the Mayor and City Council for decision making; to present proposed Ordinances & Resolutions to the City Council.
SCOPE OF WORK:
1. To advise the City Council on matters concerning the general fiscal and financial operations of the city.
2. Review and approve the semi-annual Financial Report submitted by the City Clerk before presentation to the City Council.
3. To monitor the budget and financial activities through periodic review and discussion of monthly and annual financial reports.
4. To review the City’s annual audited financial statements prior to acceptance by the City Council.
